Palitoy and the toys that shaped our childhoods

February 25 - June 24

Free

Event Navigation

Current exhibition: The Palitoy Toy Company and their products were loved by generations of children.

Palitoy developed from a Leicestershire plastics company to become part of an international giant, General Mills, USA, before closing its doors in 1986.

The exhibition begins with the development of the company and then looks at the iconic toys it produced such as Action Man and Tiny Tears. At one point there were more Action Men in Britain than there were little boys!

Today Palitoy toys are still avidly collected but by adults, who remember them fondly, as the ‘must have’ toys of their childhood.

A large selection of the Harborough toys, a collection of 17th century games and toys found at St Dionysius Church, will also be on display.
