The Local Studies Centre

The Local Studies Centre incorporates books, pamphlets and periodicals relating to the history of Market Harborough and the surrounding area. The area is an ideal place to visit for those interested in researching local or family history.

The Local Studies centre includes public-access PCs, microfilm and microfiche readers and a photocopying facility.

Resources available for research include:

  • Newspaper cuttings
  • Maps
  • Microfilm of the Harborough Mail, parish records and census returns
  • Harborough photographic collection
  • Back catalogue of the ‘Harborough Historian’
  • Online resources and reference library

Members of staff will be happy to help you locate the resources you need and finding aids including the library catalogue are available.
