Harborough Museum’s collections are cared for and managed by the staff of Leicestershire County Council. The Market Harborough Historical Society loans its collection to the County Council for display and use in the museum.
Most of the objects in the collection have been donated by local people, groups, businesses and organisations. Only a very few have been purchased by the museum. We rely on these kind gifts to make sure that the museum continues to tell the changing story of Market Harborough and its surroundings.
More information about the history of collecting and our acquisition policy can be found on the Leicestershire Museum Collections website.
